Magic Hour by Scissor Sisters

Magic Hour by Scissor Sisters

I must admit, I’ve never been a huge music buff. I’m not a hipster that touts that he’s heard all the latest tunes and knows all the best bands. I have my niche of music that I listen to, and I typically stick to it. It’s hard to find me straying from what I already like, but over the past few weeks I have definitely made an exception for the Scissor Sisters.

If you watch our videos, you know that we’ve been obsessing over the Scissor Sisters for quite some time (specifically the song “Let’s Have a Kiki”). Our friends, Jake and Vlad, introduced us to the band and I haven’t stopped listening since. But it isn’t just this one song on the album that I love, it’s the entire album, and that’s a rare occurrence for me. Typically, I like one or two songs at most, but I find myself humming all the songs over the course of any day, and the entire album has been on shuffle for the past week since I purchased it off iTunes.

If I had to describe the album in one word, I would probably say quirky. Most of the songs exhibit an adult, pop-party like feel and the harmonies are everywhere, yet not overdone. It’s great music to have in the background and the foreground at the same time, which is something I feel not every band/artist can do. In short, I’m happy to add them to my repertoire.

I would definitely recommend giving Magic Hour a test. I have a feeling you won’t be disappointed.
