European Meetups!!!

European Meetups!!!

You guys have been asking us for weeks, and we’ve kept delaying and delaying. We didn’t want to announce any dates until we were absolutely certain. We also wanted to give you guys some time to start organizing your own Facebook groups. The point was to choose as central of locations as we could to make it easy for you guys to travel to meet us, and the Facebook groups give you guys a chance to travel together and make things easier. So, here they are: the official meetup dates. We don’t have precise locations or exact times just yet, but we wanted to give you guys dates as far in advance as we could so that you guys can start planning.

UPDATE!
We’ve decided on some of the meetup locations! Look for details below!! And stay tuned for even more details coming really soon :)

Right, so here we go. Here are the dates for the European Meetups:

FRANKFURT – Saturday, July 19th
Skyline Plaza – Rooftop Garden
11:00 AM

LONDON – Sunday, July 20th
Since there are SOOOO many of you guys who plan to attend, we’ve decided to break London up into two parts.
First, for those of you who are over 18, we’ll be hosting a party at Po Na Na in Wimbledon.
9:00 PM – 3:00 AM (approx)
We’re pre-selling tickets (in the interest of space, since we expect to fill the place) for 5 pounds, and you get a free drink voucher!
For those of you guys who can’t make it to Po Na Na, we’ll be meeting at the Chipotle in Wimbledon.
11:30 AM
And if we have too many people to fit in there, we’ll be heading to Wimbledon Park (not Connizaro, my bad) nearby. Please make sure to only attend this meetup if you’re NOT going to Po Na Na

DUBLIN – Thursday, July 24th
St. Stephen’s Green
2:00 PM
Note that this is merely where we’ll be starting. We plan on bouncing around the area and eventually doing a pub crawl, so be sure to follow us on Twitter for real time updates.

PORTO – Saturday, July 26th
Liberdade Square
CHANGED TO 6:00 PM

BARCELONA – Monday, July 28th
Arenas de Barcelona
1:00 PM

PARIS – Wednesday, July 30th
Square Montholon
6:00 PM

AMSTERDAM – Sunday, August 3rd
Rembrandtpark
2:00 PM

PRAGUE – Tuesday, August 5th
Well, you guys planning the Prague Meetup really got involved with the planning! One of you guys put together a little walking tour, which looks swell.
2:00 PM

I also did some digging on Facebook, and these are the groups I found. If you guys start forming groups for any other groups that you think we should know about, tweet them to us or email them to us!

  • Amsterdam Local

Hey guys, although it’s of course up to you to choose the location of the meetup I feel like the Rembrandt park isn’t the most logical park to choose. The vondelpark is a lot nicer for meet-ups and is actually a park that gets used for that quite regularly. Also the vondelpark is much more known than the rembrandt park. At the vondelpark it’s easier to gatter a large amount of people and you can sit in the grass (everyone does that anyway). The rembrandt park however contains more sand than grass. Thought I’d let you know.

    • meetupeurope

Rembrandt Park is more convenient for us because it’s close to our hotel and we need to catch a train to Schiphol in the afternoon

      • Amsterdam Local

Okay I understand. I have to tell you though the distances in Amsterdam aren’t very great, you can pretty much cycle from one outside of the city to the other in no more then half an hour. Oh and just a tip: if a follower actually has to go past schiphol to get home (I’m sure a few do) or someone is nice enough to go with you that has a student OV, you can both get a 40 percent discount on your tickets. The only thing that you need for that is to have the person who has the student OV to be in the train with you.

We had to increase the price of international shipping by $1, since mailing prices have gone up. Thanks for understanding, guys!
